Iside e Nefthi

Il legame tra Iside e Nefthi risale ad antiche raffigurazioni delle due dee mentre piangono la morte di Osiride.

Tra le due dee esistono complessi legami emotivi.

Innanzitutto sono sorelle gemelle, si distinguono solo per la diversa acconciatura del capo; entrambe generate da Nut sono spose di due fratelli: Seth e Osiride.

Mentre l’unione tra Iside e Osiride è caratterizzata da un grande amore, pare che quella tra Nefthi e Seth sia stata imposta.

Seth desiderava Iside, quanto meno per i suoi poteri sul trono. Sapeva bene, come si deduce da un’iscrizione rinvenuta a Dendera, che “senza di lei non si può salire sul trono”.

Anubi era nato dall’unione tra Nefthi e Osiride. La dea era riuscito a sedurlo camuffandosi da Iside fu poi abbandonato nel deserto per ordine di Seth. Fu Iside a trovarlo e a crescerlo.

Dopo la morte di Osiride, Iside e Nefthi si unirono nel lutto.

I forti legami familiari di Iside ebbero la meglio sulla gelosia e sulla vendetta, persino quando risparmierà Seth dopo che questi le aveva quasi ucciso il figlio Horus e accetterà Nefthi come sua compagna.

Nefhti, il cui nome in egiziano è Nebthet, è considerata da alcuni studiosi la dea della morte e da altri un aspetto della Iside Nera
