Nut dea antico Egitto

Nut era la dea del cielo, sorella e sposa di Geb, madre di Osiride, Iside, Seth e Nefthi.

Nut viene raffigurata nelle tombe come una donna gigantesca, con il corpo incurvato ad arco al di sopra della terra e il capo sormontato dal suo nome in caratteri geroglifici.
Il suo corpo era disseminato di stelle, e come Hathor e Qadesh (dea di origine siriana), erano entrambe “Signore delle stelle“.

Dea Nut

Come per altre divinità fu assimilata ad una dea locale e venerata a Hut Shenyt, una città vicino ad Eliopoli.

Nut, all’inizio, era semplicemente la “Grande” poi “madre degli dei”, “colei che ha generato gli dei” e “nutrice degli dei”.

La dea era inoltre designata come “colei che genera Ra ogni giorno”. Una concezione diversa da quella eliopolitana e forse anteriore alla loro elaborazione

Infatti in questo caso Nut non è più figlia di Shu e Tefnet e sposa di Geb, ma una grande dea indipendente sovrana degli spazi celesti dove tutti i giorni essa genera il sole.

Dopo la XVIII dinastia Nut concepisce e mette al mondo il sole ogni giorno, che a sua volta, la feconda e rinasce da sua madre divenuta anche sua sposa.

Questo mito era all’origine dell’appellativo “Kamutef: il toro di sua madre”, forma di Amon generatore.
