Il ministro egiziano del Turismo e delle Antichità Khaled el-Enani lo ha definito “un tesoro” e ha aggiunto che le scoperte non sono ancora finite.
Insieme ai sarcofagi, in un pozzo profondo dodici metri, sono state trovate una quarantina di statue di divinità e diverse maschere funerarie. In un sarcofago, aperto dagli archeologi, è stata trovata una mummia avvolta in un sudario ornato da geroglifici.
Tutti i reperti verranno distribuiti nei diversi musei egiziani.
Il ministro ha preannunciato una conferenza nelle prossime settimane in cui sarà illustrata una nuova scoperta.
