Sette
Il sette è un numero da sempre magico, misterioso, intriso di sacralità e con una ricchissima simbologia che lo connota fin dall’antichità.

Molte delle proprietà attribuite al sette risalgono addirittura all’astrologia babilonese che riconosceva sette pianeti e divideva il mese lunare in cicli di sette giorni.

A ciò è riconducibile molte della sacralità del sette, che rappresentava in quel tempo il cosmo e la sua perfezione.

Tutte le civiltà antiche hanno sviluppato un simbolismo numerico e in esse è infatti ricorrente l’interpretazione del sette come numero sacro, unico e immobile.
Il solo dei primi dieci numeri che non ne genera nessuno ed è generato solo dall’unità.

Il risultato della somma del tre (lo spirito, il maschile) e del quattro (la materia, il femminile).

Che il sette possa essere considerato l’emblema della pienezza spirituale e cosmica, il numero sacro per eccellenza, è confermato dalla forte carica simbolica conferitagli in molte religioni.

Nella Bibbia Dio impiegò sette giorni per realizzare la sua creazione e sette sono i giorni della settimana che lo ricordano all’uomo.

Sette è la somma delle invocazioni contenute nel Padre Nostro ottenuta con la somma tra tre, numero perfetto, delle invocazioni per il divino:

Sia Santificato il tuo Nome,
Venga il tuo Regno,
Sia fatta la Tua Volontà
e quattro come i lati della quadratura del cerchio, delle invocazioni per gli uomini:
dacci oggi il nostro pane quotidiano;
rimetti a noi i nostri debiti come noi li rimettiamo ai nostri debitori,
non ci indurre in tentazione,
liberaci dal male.

Inoltre nel libro dell’Apocalisse si fa menzione dei sette grandi Arcangeli e che sette furono le Chiese del tempo:

Efeso
Smirne
Sarsi
Tiati
Pergamo
Filadelfia
Maodicea

L’Antico Testamento utilizza sette nomi per indicare la terra e altrettanti per il cielo.

Secondo il libro dell’Apocalisse, la fine dei mondo sarà annunciata dalla rottura dei sette Sigilli, seguita dal suono di sette trombe per bocca dei sette Angeli, quindi dai sette Portenti e infine dal versamento delle sette Coppe dell’ira di Dio.

Nel Nuovo Testamento, sette sono i sacramenti, i doni dello Spirito Santo. I peccati capitali (gola, lussuria, avarizia, superbia, accidia, invidia e ira). Le virtù, quattro cardinali (forza, sapienza, giustizia e temperanza) e tre teologali (fede, speranza e carità).

Nella tradizione ebraica, il Candelabro a sette luci, la Menorah, fu fatto costruire da Mosè su ordine di Geova e le sette luci ardevano per rappresentare simbolicamente la fede eternamente accesa.

Nella Baghavad Gita, libro sacro dell’Induismo, sette furono gli illuminati Veda dell’India.

Nella tradizione Islamica, dove il sette è più volte ripetuto nel Corano, il Mondo è retto da sette colonne poggianti sulle spalle di un gigante.

Nella Kabala, l’uomo viene rappresentato in una triplice essenza ma la rappresentazione della sua evoluzione è settemplice: ve

vetativa (nascita e sviluppo del corpo)
nutritiva (mantenimento)
sensitiva (contatti sensoriali con i fenomeni del mondo esterno al suo corpo)
intellettiva (elaborazione e sintesi)
sociale (rapporti con i suoi simili)
naturale (rapporti con il suo contesto)
divina (ricerca dell’Armonia con la realtà di Dio).

Sette furono le piaghe nell’Antico Egitto.

Nella cultura ellenica l’armonia tra pensiero ed azione viene indicata nei sette sapienti:

Cleubulo con in mano la bilancia, che significa “sii giusto”;
Pittaco che ha in mano un ramo d’ulivo, che significa “taci e se parli fallo per portare la pace e non l’odio”;
Solone con in mano un teschio, che significa “pensa alla tua fine – dove andiamo”;
Pariandro, in posa calma e rassegnata, significa “frena l’ira”;
Talete colui che non sa, significa “sapienza infinita”;
Chilone con in mano uno specchio, che significa “conosci e controlla te stesso”;
Biante, che solleva una gabbia contenente un uccello, che significa “la libertà produce”

Il mausoleo di Alicarnasso agire per la grande sepoltura
Il tempio di Diana in Efeso provvidenza e raccoglimento

Le piramidi d’Egitto rivelazione e sapienza.

Nel Medioevo le Arti e le Scienze Muratorie venivano divise in due gruppi:

un trivio, detto letterario, di tre “discipline propedeutiche”

e un quadrivio, detto scientifico, di quattro “scienze fondamentali”
Aritmetica
Geometria
Musica
Astronomia

Queste sette Discipline e Scienze Muratorie, venivano sintetizzate in sette parole:
