FARAONI – ANTICO EGITTO
Per gli antichi egizi la parola aveva un magico potere: il nome evocava, creava, “era” la cosa nominata.
Chiamarsi ” Protettore dell’Egitto” voleva dire diventarlo realmente. Questi concetti davano un potere creativo tanto alla scrittura geroglifica, quanto alle raffigurazioni.
Per questo il nome del cartiglio era fondamentale per il sovrano, che ne possedeva ben cinque: la ” titolatura” reale.
Il primo ( dedicato a Horus, il dio Falco, di cui il re era l’erede terreno e l’incarnazione ), appare già prima della I Dinastia.
Sempre nella I Dinastia compare il nome del ” Giunco e Ape ” ossia ” Re dell’Alto e del Basso Egitto ” ( il giunco è una pianta simbolo della valle del Nilo, l’ape del Delta) e il nome delle ” Due Signore” cioè di Wadjet e Nekbet, dee tutelari delle due terre.
Dalla IV Dinastia appare il nome di “Horus d’Oro” mentre quello del “Giungo e Ape” si trasforma nel prenome che rappresentava il titolo religioso del re.
Anche il vero nome del sovrano, che gli apparteneva dalla nascita, apparve dalla IV Dinastia.
Da allora nome e prenome vennero incisi sui monumenti dei faraoni.
Identificare i re delle prime dinastie è difficile perché sui monumenti della loro epoca appare il nome di Horus, più tardi furono riportati solo il quarto ed il quinto.
