Nulla nasce dal caso.
Nell’antichità, quando si iniziava la costruzione di un villaggio, che ampliato sarebbe diventato città, si seguivano sempre alcune regole.
Si pensava alla difesa, dotando i villaggi di muri di cinta e di torri di vedetta, e a propiziarsi il favore degli astri benevoli, infatti l’antico tracciato romano di Torino apriva le quattro porte d’accesso sui quattro punti cardinali:
ovest la “Porta Decumana” – sbocco di via Garibaldi su via della Consolata
est la “Porta Pretoria” – torri di Palazzo Madama in Piazza Castello
sud la “Porta Prìncipalis Dextera” – sbocco di Via San Tommaso su via Santa Teresa
nord la “Porta Prìncipalis Sinistra” – Porte Palatine
Un altro elemento magico è dovuto alla confluenza del fiume Po, che rappresenta il Sole, con la Dora, simbolo della Luna, che da vita ad una sorta di anello intorno alla città.
Inoltre Torino è allineata sul 45° parallelo definito “della magia nera” e chissà se Padre Beccaria, professore di fisica all’università torinese e membro della Royal Society di Londra ne era al corrente quanto eseguì i calcoli matematici per delineare la posizione del capoluogo piemontese.
Parlando di magia nera non si può non ricordare il cuore nero di Torino : Piazza Statuto, ove al centro di una piccola aiuola si innalza un obelisco con un astrolabio alla sommità.
Identico obelisco lo troviamo ad undici chilometri di distanza in Piazza Rivoli, al termine di corso Francia, strada che traccia una perfetta linea retta.
