TORINO MAGICA
Palazzo Madama è uno degli edifici tra i più antichi di Torino.
Chiude da un lato piazza Castello e dietro l’attuale facciata barocca, Verso via Garibaldi, c’era in età romana la Porta Decumana dove passavano le mura che circondavano la città.
Le mura delle città, che hanno sempre avuto significati simbolici profondi, assunsero l’immagine di potere protettivo femminile che racchiude dentro di sé il centro della vita dell’agglomerato urbano.
Molti rituali di consacrazione delle mura avvenivano durante il passaggio tra l’anno vecchio e quello nuovo, nel corso di cerimonie legate alla definizione del tempo.
La sovrapposizione di questi due valori assumeva la caratteristica di interconnessione di valori che portava ad una diversa concezione della vita terrena quindi della vita cittadina.
Nelle civiltà più antiche camminare attorno alle mura della città era considerato un rituale magico e quando il perimetro delle mura era circolare acquisivano il valore di cerchio magico.
Ogni cinta muraria che si rispettasse doveva avere le sue porte, ovvero le apertura che permettevano il passaggio da uno spazio profano e sconosciuto ad uno sacro e di appartenenza.
Le quattro porte antiche della città romana di Torino si aprivano sui quattro punti cardinali, di cui le principali seguivano il decorso del Sole.
A est, dietro Superga, sorge il sole che tramonta a Porta Susa, l’Ovest geografico considerato da sempre nefasto.
Il punto ove sorge il sole è sempre un valore positivo, mentre il punto del suo tramonto, l’ovest, è sempre negativo.
L’ipotesi che il rapporto cielo-terra , dove l’alto era connesso con il positivo e perfetto, mentre il basso con il negativo e l’imperfetto, ha permesso di collegare l’est con il lato favorevole, in modo da ribaltare il punto di osservazione. Ciò che è a sinistra sulla terra è a destra del cielo.
Da questa classificazione nacquero i significati attributi alle due forze, est e ovest, che divenne poi modello di riferimento.
Durante il Medioevo, Palazzo Madama fu trasformato in fortezza e successivamente nei primi anni del Quattrocento in un grande castello con altre due torri verso oriente.
Grazie alle due Madame Reali, Maria Cristina e Giovanna Battista, che vi abitarono, il castello ebbe nuova fortuna.
La duchessa Maria Cristina diede il via a lavori di trasformazione che resero l’austera fortezza, uno degli edifici più prestigiosi della città, il cortile fu trasformato in un grande salone d’entrata.
I lavori continuarono sotto la reggenza di Giovanna Battista, l’intervento architettonico fondamentale fu quello di Juvarra che disegnò la prestigiosa facciata verso via Garibaldi addossata al corpo medievale e lo scalone a due rampe che si riuniscono al piano nobile.
Lo scalone è sottolineato dalla bicromia bianco-verde.
Sin dall’antichità alcuni colori, ritenuti più espressivi furono associati a concetti religiosi, filosofici, culturali. Nel binomio bianco-verde si legge la necessità di una purificazione interiore (bianco) che permette all’uomo di ascendere ai misteri della natura e delle leggi cosmiche che ne governano l’armonia (verde).
Con questo tipo di arte ha inizio un periodo di discesa della rappresentazione allegorica. A volte il valore del simbolo esoterico si perde. Il segno magico viene inglobato nell’ ornamento e si confonde con il resto della struttura.
La tipica metodologia di costruzione di tipo esoterico, che aveva cadenzato i ritmi delle geometrie architettoniche del passato, si fece meno comprensibile. Le dimore applicarono sempre più schemi decorativi tesi ad esaltarne l’apparenza, piuttosto che il contenuto.

Torino si trova al vertice di due triangoli geografici:quello di magia bianca che la unisce a Praga e a Lione quello di magia nera che la collega a Londra e a San Francisco.

L’antico tracciato romano di Torino apriva le quattro porte d’accesso sui quattro punti cardinali.
L’elemento acqua
La posizione geografica di Torino, posta alla confluenza del Po e della Dora, rappresentavano la sacrilità. I due fiumi esprimevano il loro valore vitale e spirituale
